Plantrooms are manufactured using GRP composite construction to suit the requirements of the client’s specification. This would include compliance with the specified U-values, fire ratings, etc. The enclosure would generally be provided with a separately mounted steel channel sub frame complete with chequer plate flooring.
The necessary internal electrical services would include lighting and power provided from an MCB distribution board.
Temperature control, if required, would be by means of thermostatically controlled ventilation fans or air conditioning.
Plantrooms can be supplied either fully assembled or in flat pack form ready for on-site assembly. A typical installation being on a building roof.
They are suitable for external mounting and can typically accommodate the following electrical equipment:
- Main Supply Transformer
- LV Switchboards
- Motor Control Centres
- Uninterrupted Power Supply Units (UPS)
- Power Factor Correction Equipment (PFC)
- Battery Charger Units
